TradeBasis market averages

This free explanation describes our limited US MCP market summary. No account or subscription is required. Your result or clarification is available in the conversation without visiting this page.

Matched asking-price evidence

We match US year, make, model, trim and powertrain, exclude stale listings and outliers, and prefer local, same-year evidence. Thin markets may expand nationwide or to adjacent model years; the result identifies that expansion. Requested geography is not a guarantee that every selected vehicle is in that state.

The TradeBasis calculation

The final average uses at most 20 local-first matches weighted by source, year, distance and state. This is our calculated average, not an upstream price prediction or a broad-pool arithmetic mean. At least five valid price-bearing matches are required. All prices are USD; odometers are in miles.

Mileage is separate

When mileage evidence is available, we apply the same mileage curve, floors and caps as Quick Appraisal and label the mileage-adjusted average separately from the base average. An unavailable adjustment is not a zero-dollar adjustment. No condition, recon, profit or offer multiplier is applied.

Clarification and limits

If details are missing or conflict, ask the user and resend the full confirmed inputs. The service does not retain a vehicle conversation. An optional opaque interaction ID can correlate requests, but does not authorize access or restore previous inputs. See the connection and clarification guide.

Asking prices are not completed sales, trade-in offers, wholesale values or condition assessments. Bounded retrieval can miss available inventory. The pilot permits 100 paid upstream attempts per UTC day across all clients, up to three per appraisal, one active search and a 20-second deadline. Failed paid attempts count. Incomplete searches do not produce a numeric valuation. Recoverable errors are not permission for automatic retries.

Individual listings are not distributed through this service. Monitoring shows up to 30 days of operational activity, excluding VINs, prompts, locations and market results. Older activity is excluded from reports and removed while the service is running or when it next starts; deletion may be delayed while the service is stopped.

Using this at your dealership?

If you currently work from book values or without appraisal software, the paid dealer product adds a regular appraisal workflow with visible comparable listings. Lite is $99 USD/month for 1 user. Pro is $249 USD/month for up to 10 users, adding the Acquisition Workstation, full appraisal worksheets and inventory management.

Compare dealer plans and features — optional; there is no free trial of the paid product. The free pilot is separate from both subscriptions and the one-time consumer report.
